WHEEL ALIGNMENT

Wheel Alignment call 01442 251600

We offer a FREE STANDARD FRONT WHEEL ALIGNMENT check on all makes and models of cars. This could save you a huge amount of money. We also offer our Hunter full electronic wheel alignment check for only £24.95 + vat, to check the other angles on the entire car (on many vehicles these are adjustable).

Wheel alignment (also known as tracking or steering geometry) is essential for three main reasons: -

Reducing Tyre Wear

Improper alignment is a major cause of premature tyre wear. Over the years, a properly aligned vehicle can add thousands of miles to tyre life.

Better Fuel Mileage

An increase in rolling resistance causes poor fuel mileage. Full alignment along with correctly inflated tyres minimizes rolling resistance, thus improving mpg.

Improved Handling

A car with better handling can go around corners or turns at higher speeds and is less likely to lose control in a sudden panic swerve.

Correct wheel alignment improves road holding and maximises the life of tyres. Aligning the front two wheels resolves alignment issues for most vehicles.

Many handling problems can be amended by full alignment.

Our equipment is the most up-to-date and accurate on the market and is approved by many major car manufacturers including BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen/Audi Group, Aston Martin, Bentley and Porsche.

A check or adjustment can be carried out to suit your convenience. You can book your car in and wait in the welcoming environment of our customer lounge or your more than welcome to return when the job is completed.

HERE'S WHAT WE DO: -

For vehicles with adjustable rear suspension

  1. Angle readings are measured at all four wheels.
  2. The steering is centred (see diagram 1).
  3. Front wheels are referenced to rear thrust line and set to specifications.

RESULT: ALL FOUR WHEELS ARE PARALLEL AND THE STEERING WHEEL IS CENTRED.

For vehicles with non-adjustable rear suspension

  1. Angle readings are measured at all four wheels.
  2. Rear wheels are set to specification. (Rear thrust line corresponds to vehicle centre line.)
  3. Steering wheel is centred (see diagram 2).
  4. Front wheels are referenced to the rear thrust line and set to specification.

RESULT: ALL FOUR WHEELS ARE POSITIONED STRAIGHT AHEAD AND PARALLEL, AND THE STEERING WHEEL IS CENTRED.
